Unending Love and Music

I've rediscoverd my favorite website. . . again! What the world once new as The Hype Machine is fortunately still known as The Hype Machine, but its url has changed. I love this sight in strange and unnatural ways. Scary ways. On a daily basis it coughs up a mixture of wierd crap no one should listen too mixed with the best, newest, craziest, most obscure music I've found anywhere. Also, you can listen to the music for free. Free is a great word.

Home Again

I made it back alive from Florida. There was cable television so I didn't have to fight lizards. Pictures are up on Flickr, though mostly of Mira in the pool. Also, we've reached capacity on the free Flickr account so old pictures are going to start disappearing. A small feed of our account is on the lower right side of the homepage.

Florida: America's Wang

We are headed off to America's Wang to hang out with some of Em's family in a week.  Staying with her grandma who lives in a senior community somewhere between no where and the empty void of space (also called Central Florida).  I've been told there are pools.  I already know there are orange groves and that's about it.  No internet, no computer, probably no cable.  My iPod and DS will get a workout, and if they fail me I will have to go in the back yard to find sticks and fight lizards for entertainment.  Hm, wielding sticks in an epic battle with small lizards sounds like more fun then it should.  At least it will be warm and I will have some books to read as well.  Just finished "The Great Divorce" by CS Lewis, quite good.  Need to get into another book before next weekend when we fly out.

PC is gone

Sigh.  New PC was DOA and had to be sent back for repair, at least I didn't have to pay for the shipping.  Sucks though that it isn't humming away in my house right now.  Also still waiting for pieces that were broken for our new eliptical machine.  Thank God I don't have a temper or... I can't even think of what consequences there would be.  I am such a wuss.

New PC is iminent

The new PC is on its way.  Shipped today and should be here Friday, which is wonderful since I am off that day and it will be delivered to work!  Eh, at least when it comes I can grab it and go home and play.  The next few days will be torture.

Also getting into Deadwood now.  Makes me want to go back and watch Firefly again, though, with all the western styling.  Oh, Explosions in the Sky concert was fun.  Good stuff.  The opening "band" kinda scared me, it was some kind of whale song acid trip.  One guy making strange noises and then sampling and layering the sound over and over.  He also looked like he was about to die or fall asleep during the whole thing.  Probably the strangest thing I've ever seen performed - and I've seen Beckett plays more then once.
